2020 is almost over! We made it through one of the worst years ever, and I know we’re all looking forward to its end. However, what if 2021 ends up being worse than this year? How will you react? Will it be panic or peace? If we let circumstances dictate our joy and hope, we’ll be disappointed every year. Whenever I take our children outside the house, they never take a look at the big chaotic world and panic about what’s happening next. Instead, they look at their father to know where they’re going and what they’ll be doing. Yes, they ask a thousand questions and might have some fear, but they are still filled with hope and joy knowing their father whom they trust is leading them. Our heavenly father is the same way. We can be filled with hope and joy because our trustworthy loving God continues to lead us despite ongoing circumstances. As we end this year let us dwell on these encouraging verses from Romans 8:38-39 which says, “For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
