We Christians should be defined by our grit. We should be known for our passion for Christ and our perseverance through thick and thin. This world is full of people who are deceitful and conniving who try and trip us up every step of our race. Too often we get tired and discouraged because we’re trying to sprint the 100-meter dash when in reality we’re running a marathon. The runner can’t see the finish line from the starting point but runs knowing it will be there. We too know the finish line of God’s plan, with Him winning. 1 John 2:17 says, “The world and its desires pass away, but whoever does the will of God lives forever.” We persevere because God perseveres. He has given us his character through Jesus Christ, so that we might have that true grit. Let us continue in our perseverance of meditating and sharing his word because tough times and easy times will continue to pass in this life. Only our God is forever. “The grass withers, the flower fades, but the word of our God stands forever.” Isaiah 40:8
