Knowing Your Role

1 Corinthians 12:12 says, “For just as the body is one and has many members, and all the members of the body, though many, are one body, so it is with Christ.” Knowing our gifts and understanding our roles help us build one another up within the body of believers. We’re not all teachers but we’ve all taught someone something before. We’re not all leaders but we’ve all lead someone somewhere before. The reality is we don’t use our gifts 100% of the time but are in situations that require us to work with a servant’s heart. We must learn to serve well in circumstances that aren’t always comfortable or are outside of our gifting. When we assist one another in whatever way we can, the Lord opens opportunities for you to use your gifting. Romans 12:13 says, “Contribute to the needs of the saints and seek to show hospitality.” Seek to serve others, and his glory will shine forth in the gifts he gives.
