Faith Amid Setbacks

What do you do when you hit a setback in your life? We’ve all dealt with them. Remodel a home and a water pipe bursts costing thousands. Plan the perfect family vacation and the kids get sick. Retirement around the corner and stocks take a dive hurting your portfolio. Plans unravel all the time. Do we let the anger, frustration, and stress fuel our decisions on how to move forward, or do we turn to Jesus? An old hymn reminds us… tis so sweet to trust in Jesus, just to take him at his word, just to rest upon his promise. What is his word and promise? God told the Israelites in Isaiah 41:13, “For I am the Lord your God who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, do not fear; I will help you.” God doesn’t go away in our setbacks. Instead, he holds us and wants to help us. That’s pretty sweet! We are praying that you too might experience the sweetness of resting upon the promises of Jesus.
