We’ve come to that point in the year where around 60% of the population has given up on their New Year’s resolutions. Why is that? When we resolve something, we are deciding firmly on a course of action. Just like the Christian walk, this is difficult, takes time, has many failures, and often does not produce immediate results. In Paul’s time with the church in Corinth he said, “For I resolved to know nothing while I was with you except Jesus Christ and him crucified.” (1 Corinthians 2:2) Paul did many a number of things in that city, but his focus was Christ first. If we decide firmly on a course of action to follow Christ, then he is the one who gives us the discipline, picks us up when we fall, and gives us the strength to reach our goals. This ministry here in France has a mountain to tackle, but we must resolve to seek Christ first. It’s through faith in him we’ll move this mountain and see great things develop. We pray you resolve to seek Jesus first to take on whatever challenges are in your own life.
